Dr. Abhishek Shastri
MBBS, PGDip, Psychiatry, MPhil, MRCPsych
Dr. Shastri has dual accreditation with General Medical Council to practice general adult and older adult psychiatry. He works as Consultant Psychiatrist in Brent Memory Service in Central and North West London NHS Foundation Trust.
Having completed his schooling in the United Arab Emirates, Dr. Shastri graduated in Medicine from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore, India in 2010.
Dr. Shastri has published numerous articles, papers, and book chapters in the field of neuroinflammation and dementias. Dr. Shastri has been a recipient of the CNWL NHS Trust Research Training Fund prize to study epidemiology and has secured bursaries from other prestigious institutions such as the Physiological Society, British Pharmacological Society, and the Royal College of Psychiatrists for presentations at national conferences.
Dr. Shastri has been part of national UK-wide quality improvement projects involving older adults with depression and psychosis, created an interactive dashboard for NHS Trusts across England & Wales, and is currently Principal Investigator for an ongoing trial on sleep and dementia, headed by UCL. Dr. Shastri occasionally delivers lectures on dementia and delirium to Year 5 medical students at Imperial College London and is the Clinical & Educational Supervisor for Core and Higher Trainees in Psychiatry for Health Education London Training scheme.
